Ping DXi Audio Metronome

Ping DXi Audio Metronome is a DXi plugin, designed for use in Cakewalk's Sonar™ and Home Studio™ as an audio metronome (i.e., it plays the metronome sounds through the assigned audio device instead of a MIDI device).  Ping reads the song's tempo and meter,and responds accordingly.  Basically, there are two beats to control - a "First" beat, and "Subsequent" beats.  By default, beats will sound on the musical measure (first beat) and beat (subsequent beats) boundaries.  You can also assign note values to the beats - for example, in 4/4 time, you might assign a "whole" note to the first beat, and a "Quarter" note to subsequent beats.  You can assign melodic sounds (i.e., sine waves at specified tonal values) to either of the beats, or percussive sounds, which are small wave files representing the recorded sounds.  13 percussive sounds are provided, and there are provisions for adding your own sounds, to a total of 20 sound types.  Each beat can be assigned an interval (any allowed value, including dotted, and triplet notes), a length in fractions of a second (mainly used for melodic sounds), and a velocity (i.e., volume of the sound).  There are also provisions for overriding the song's tempo, and for detecting a tapped tempo. There are also visual beat indicators, and the ability to do a count-in of a specified number of measures, prior to your song starting. Note: Due to a change in the way Sonar 4 interfaces with plugins, count-in is not available in Ping with Sonar Version 4. A beta version has been developed for Ping in which count-in in Sonar Version 4 has shown to function correctly. This version is available upon demand to customers. You can specify that Ping play beats either during Play, Record, or both.
